Florentino Pérez: "We didn't need a loan to buy Bale"

Marca.com - Florentino Pérez has kicked off a series of briefing sessions he will be holding with Real Madrid's representative members ahead of this Sunday's Ordinary Assembly.

During this first meeting, the Real president outlined the matters to be voted on this coming Sunday. The members in attendance were also given a low-down on the club's financials and its latest decisions in the sporting arena.
The following snippets were among the highlights at the meeting:
Özil: "The player and his camp asked to leave and we don't want anyone unhappy at the club".
Mourinho: "We needed to bang our fists on the table in order to break Barça's dominance and that's what Mourinho did. He's a coach who gave us a lot and helped us to take a step up, particularly in Europe. I have a lot of time for him and he did good things for the club. He has the right idea about what being classy means".
The new stadium: it will cost €300-400 million and the winning project will be chosen within the next few weeks.
Bankia and Bale's signing: "There's no truth in what Piqué said, but he's a good lad and we shouldn't hold it against him". Florentino stressed that the club hadn't requested a loan from Bankia or any other bank.
Resort Island: Real Madrid has pulled out of the project to build a theme park in Ras al-Khaimah. It will instead look to pursue the venture in one of the other Emirates.
The battle between the sticks: "We have two top goalies and both came through our youth system. It's a real privilege".
